Jamie
Vocalist
Originally from the Detroit area, Jamie grew up singing in choirs. She also has a background in improv comedy and acting. Jamie made her way to Chicago in 2004 where she immediately found a foothold in the cover band scene, singing with and fronting various bands over the years. As a 90’s teen, Jamie’s nostalgic love of alternative music and grunge combined with her powerhouse vocals led her to Made in September. Jamie’s influence ranges from Motown to Metal, from singer-songwriter to country. With a fierce vibrato carried by soulful undertones, Jamie will have you bowing down in full musical submission. She will light up your inner rock god with a growl, and keep you on your feet while that last ringing note reverberates through the air. When Jamie is not on stage belting your favorite songs, you can find her working her (non-rock star) day job as a manager for a Pet Insurance company. When not working or performing, Jamie loves musing about all those 90’s songs you forgot you loved so much and putting together the next great set list for our upcoming shows.

Becki
Keyboards / Strings / Vocals
Becki grew up in Lombard, IL (go Rams, go!) and got her first taste of music learning the cello at age 8. In college, she studied to be a music teacher with a focus in classical vocal training and choral music, but somehow she’s always been a punk rocker at heart! She doesn’t teach music anymore (what’s that saying about “best laid plans”? lol) but instead works in software and spends most of her free time saying, “I should really be practicing…” or rehearsing for an upcoming concert. She still flexes her classical music muscles in the Chicago Chorale in addition to playing in Made in September. Oh, and her favorite song in our set is always whichever one calls for a cool ear-splitting scream. Watch out!

ben
Guitar / Vocals
Ben grew up playing acoustic guitar before eventually picking up an electric. He built up performance chops by playing acoustic coffee house gigs, performing both original material and covers. While his main influences are stalwarts like the Dave Matthews Band, Led Zeppelin, Pearl Jam, and Smashing Pumpkins, Ben is always up to trying out new music in a wide range of styles such as rock, pop, country, blues and even metal.
When he isn’t laying down riffs with MiS, Ben enjoys playing golf, fitness and travel.

Luis
Guitar
Originally from Venezuela, Luis’ first real interactions with rock music was at the age of 9, when he discovered that buried inside a box full of Latin music vinyl discs, there were two Iron Maiden discs and a Van Halen disc. Imagine a 9-year-old looking at both Eddies on front covers while listening to crazy guitar solos…mind blowing! There were some local musicians in his family too, so it was a matter of time that he would develop interest for playing an instrument, a guitar in his case.
A mostly self-taught player, he went from Playing with friends and small parties, to joining a Pink Floyd cover band with other local musicians and spent seven years playing with them until he moved to the United States. His influences span from classic rock to more modern prog rock, but now he is up to trying other styles and adding different flavors to his style and trying different sounds. He plays mostly on Fender Strats, Telecasters, and Charvel guitars.

burl
Drums / Vocals
Growing up in Southern California, Burl cultivated a strong interest in music from a young age thanks to his grandfather who was a popular drummer in the country music scene. Starting with formal lessons at 7, he continued his musical education through high school and then on to college earning his B.A. in Music Composition with an emphasis in Education. His college career presented performance opportunities throughout the United States, Europe, Japan and Australia and venues ranging from seedy “behind chicken wire” bars to stadiums and some of the premier clubs on the Sunset Strip. Burl plays exclusively on Pearl drums, Zildjian cymbals, Roland electronics, and Vic Firth sticks.
